Andrew Hinderaker

"He's a playwright."

"What? You mean he's not a heartthrob actor?"

"Nope."

"What a waste of a pretty face....."

We started the day with facial hair. And the guy can work a beard.

This shot was a nod to UT Austin where he's moving in August to start his MFA in Playwrighting. As a fellow Longhorn I couldn't be more excited for him. And Austin. With this rockabilly cool vibe he's workin' he's going to fit in just fine.

Don't let his pretty looks fool you though. He is quiet, a little shy, modest, and the word he thinks best describes his writing (and absolutely describes his personality) - earnest.

Andrew is having a world premiere of his new play, Suicide, Incorporated, this summer at the Gift Theatre. Happy little subject right? Actually this dark comedy slowly unravels into a meaningful and profound work of art. And the dedication and passion with which the playwright has intended for this to be a vehicle of outreach to that scarred community of people whose lives have been touched by suicide is what makes this man so remarkable. And it's clear that his depth and yes, sadness, propels him forward into his work with a well defined sense of call.
